Capture the Moments That Make HCOS Special to You
We’re excited to officially launch this year’s #HCOSPhotoContest, running from May 1 to 31, 2026! At HCOS, we believe every student’s learning journey is unique, and we want to see it through your lens. This contest is your opportunity to share your experience and creativity with our community.
Whether it’s the cozy corner where you do your schoolwork, the smile on your face after wearing a brand-new HCOS hoodie, or a special moment of creativity or faith, we want to see the world from your point of view.
Prizes
We’ll be awarding one winner in each category with a $100 HCOS School Swag Gift Card and selecting one random winner to receive a $50 Amazon Gift Card. Winners will also be featured on our website and social media channels!

Photo Categories & Ideas
We’ve got four fun and flexible categories. Choose one—or submit to more than one! Here are some examples to spark your creativity:
1. Your Study Space
Show us where learning happens! This could be:
- Your tech setup with a computer, headphones, and a Bible nearby.
- A sunlit desk surrounded by books and art supplies.
- We want to see your #LaptopLife. Where do you study best – desk, couch or floor, or even outside!
- A sibling duo hard at work on their studies at the kitchen table.
Whether you’re in a library, your bedroom, or even outside on a sunny day—this is your moment to highlight the environment that helps you learn best.
2. The Faces of HCOS
Show us the people behind the learning. Share moments like:
- Wearing your school colours!
- Showing off your favourite piece of HCOS Swag.
- How you connect virtually with your classmates.
- Candid moments from the flexibility of home education.
Real moments, real people, captured as they happen. We want to celebrate YOU.
3. Faith and Service
Faith is the heartbeat of HCOS. Capture moments of spiritual growth and giving like:
- Participating in a family Bible study or prayer time.
- Serving at a local food bank or delivering care packages.
- Embarking on a missions trip.
- Singing or playing worship music at home or in your church.
These glimpses into your spiritual journey inspire our whole community.
4. A Creative Project
Are you a maker, artist, or innovator? Show off your talents:
- A student showcasing a completed project.
- An art station with paint-covered hands and a colourful canvas.
- Baking and decorating cupcakes as part of a life skills lesson.
- Showing off the instrument you play and striking a chord!
Whether it’s tech, art, music, or DIY, we can’t wait to see your creativity in action!
5. Teaching in Action
Show us learning as it comes to life. Bring us into your space and show us the real moments of instruction, engagement and assessments. We’re looking for:
- Leading a live online class or discussion.
- One-on-one support, helping a student work through a problem.
- Behind the scenes of a teacher: planning, grading and grabbing a coffee!
Whether it’s a quiet moment of guidance or an energetic group session, we want to see how you teach in action!
How to Enter
- Choose the category (or categories!) that best represents your HCOS experience.
- Capture your photos. Make sure they are high quality and well-lit. See guidelines here.
- Head over to the photo contest submissions and fill out the short submission form.
- Submit your photos by May 31, 2026.
Tips for a Great Submission
- Think about lighting and composition—natural light works wonders!
- Include a short description with your photo telling us what it means to you.
- Be creative and authentic—we want to see real, everyday moments!
