At HCOS, we love celebrating students who chase their dreams with passion and determination. Eden Z, a Grade 9 HCOS student, is doing just that as she rises to new heights in gymnastics, competing at a provincial level and inspiring those around her.
Tumbling into Success
Eden’s gymnastics journey began as soon as she could walk. Over the years, her love for the sport has grown into a dedicated pursuit, leading her to compete. Most recently, she competed at the high school provincials in Prince George and the Excel Championships in New Westminster — she looks forward to competing at her first international competition later this year in Las Vegas.
The hours of practice, commitment, and focus she’s poured into her sport have paid off in incredible ways, including the opportunity to perform on a provincial stage.
Behind the Skills
Gymnastics isn’t just about routines and techniques for Eden—it’s a life-shaping experience.
“I am learning valuable life skills like perseverance, a good work ethic and the importance of a healthy lifestyle. I have made so many wonderful friendships and I love traveling to new places to compete. I always get to explore the city and see museums, parks or other places of interest.”
Eyes on the Future
Eden’s goals don’t stop here. She’s determined to keep climbing higher, aiming to qualify for next year’s provincials and beyond. With her unwavering dedication, it’s clear she’s only just beginning her journey in the world of gymnastics.
Eden’s story is a testament to what’s possible when talent and hard work meet opportunity. As she continues flipping and soaring toward her goals, she’s an inspiration to young athletes everywhere.
