Learning Without Limits: The Next Step in Our Story
Dear HCOS, Flex, and KCCS Families,
Over the past number of years, we have watched something extraordinary unfold across our community. What began as a step of faith, reimagining what Christian education could look like in a changing world, has become a movement reaching further than we ever imagined.
Our roots as a school began with an invitation to home education parents, to share with us what kind of school would work for them. Our focus to individually support each child, in each family, in each community across the province has set us on a journey of furthering what personalized education can be for our students and families. Now, through years of listening to parents and constructing unique learning plans for every child, we have grown to serve thousands of students in homes, community connections, online and hybrid settings.
Today, the desire to do education differently, in a way that honours the unique God given identity of each child, is being felt by families across the province, the country and even around the globe.
Many of you have already heard parts of the HCOS + Flex Academy story. Others may be hearing it for the first time.
But we want you to know this:
Something significant is happening, and every member of our community is part of it.
We call it Learning Without Limits.
As former Minister of Education and Learning Without Limits Ambassador Peter Fassbender recently shared, “The world has changed, but education has not kept pace.”
We believe it is time for that to change.
More Than a Building… A Hub for the Future
In the months ahead, you will hear more about the Nexus for Innovation in Education. The Nexus is a new centre being built in Kelowna that will serve as the home base for innovation, creativity, and personalized Christian education for generations to come.
While some will experience this building directly as students walking its halls, the Nexus is far more than a physical space.
The Nexus is being designed as an engine, a dynamic hub where:
- Our home support, online and hybrid classroom teachers collaborate and grow their skills
- We pioneer new hybrid and online models
- We equip other schools to shift into personalized learning models
- Educators immerse themselves in personalized learning to better serve every student
- Leadership in Christian education deepens and expands across Canada
- Our course writers create engaging curriculum
- We help shape the future of learning. Together.
Learning Without Limits is about bringing this vision to life.
Why This Matters to Every Family — Near and Far
One of the most beautiful realities of our community is that we are not confined by geography. While the Nexus provides a physical home for our vision, its impact is designed to reach far beyond its walls. The creativity sparked within this hub will resonate across our entire community, no matter where you call home.

Where other schools will look for guidance in personalized, hybrid, online, and faith-centered innovation.
