We are hiring a Graphic Designer to create visual materials for print, digital, and interactive media that communicate information clearly and engage audiences in alignment with the organization brand voice.

HCOS has an opening for a full-time, Graphic Designer. This is a remote, permanent position, working 40 hours per week. The primary purpose of the Graphic Designer is to create visual materials for print, digital, and interactive media that effectively communicate information and engage audiences. They collaborate with teams to produce visually appealing, goal-driven designs that convey clear messages. Their work must be optimized for various platforms, and they are expected to stay current with design trends and software to ensure their designs remain fresh and relevant.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support HCOS and StudyForge with marketing campaigns by creating print and digital collateral
  • Create concepts for new and fun visual styles for various subjects and grade levels that support student learning
  • Provide creative direction and design strategy to ensure visuals align with project goals and brand identity
  • Design illustrations, layouts, graphics, multimedia, merchandise, and branding that appeal to target audiences
  • Create layouts from content that integrate the course art direction and visuals for an appealing and engaging student experience
  • Collaborate with project managers, developers, curriculum teams, and other stakeholders to meet project needs
  • Present and explain design concepts, incorporating feedback to achieve project objectives
  • Manage projects from concept to completion, ensuring high-quality work and on-time delivery
  • Maintain brand consistency across all mediums and ensure alignment with organizational identity
  • Prepare production-ready design files with correct specifications and organization
  • Communicate creative decisions effectively and provide constructive design feedback to team members
  • Research and apply current design trends, technologies, and best practices to keep work innovative and relevant
  • Other related duties as required

Qualifications

  • Demonstrates a commitment to, and a lifestyle reflective of, the KCCS Foundational Beliefs
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the design field
  • A portfolio of work must be submitted
  • Experience in web design or illustration is considered an asset
  • Experience with industry-relevant software (primarily Adobe & Figma) 
  • Knowledge of current design and illustration trends
  • Strong attention to detail and understanding of design principles, including visual hierarchy, colour use, and typography
  • Passionate about design and digital art, and a willingness to learn
  • Understanding of brand principles and art direction to ensure consistent design and messaging
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to connect design decisions to broader goals is considered an asset
  • Excellent time and priority management skills
  • Ability to change pace or direction, and eager to learn and grow
  • Strong ability to collaborate and communicate in a positive manner


What We Offer:

  • Competitive wage: $31.34-32.96 per hour
  • Hours per Week: 40 hours
  • Working hours: Standard business hours, Pacific Time (approximately 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.), with some flexibility as needed.
