The EA Recruiter works with the Inclusive Education department and EA Office to recruit, hire, and retain Education Assistants across BC.

HCOS has an opening for an Education Assistant (EA) Recruiter. This is a part-time, remote position, working 28 hours per week. The primary purpose of this position is to work collaboratively with the EA Office Manager to recruit, hire, and retain Education Assistants.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Inclusive Education (IE) Regional Administrators and Case Managers around the EA hiring needs in various cities/regions of BC
  • Follow all recruitment and hiring process from start to finish for EAs including creating internal and external job postings, reviewing and following up with applicants, scheduling and conducting interviews and maintaining accurate recruitment data
  • Develop and implement recruiting plans using social media platforms
  • Connect with new EAs to establish successful onboarding and integration into HCOS to increase successes and retention
  • Network to build strong relationships with higher education institutions and other programs to find suitable EA candidates
  • Provide strong branding and representation of HCOS within the community
  • Monitor annual EA Expression of Interest (EOI) submissions
  • Monitor acceptance of new IE students and deactivated students as it relates regionally to the need for EA hiring
  • Occasional overnight travel for meetings will be required
  • Any other reasonable tasks associated with supporting the EA Office

Qualifications

  • Demonstrates a commitment to, and a lifestyle reflective of, the KCCS Foundational Beliefs
  • Experience in recruitment and hiring practices in the education sector
  • Knowledge of Inclusive Education and/or the role of Education Assistants is an asset
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Professional communication skills, both oral and written
  • Organized, detail-oriented, accurate, and efficient with timely follow-up
  • Collaborative and team-oriented with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to be discreet and handle confidential information sensitively
  • Flexible attitude towards innovation and change
  • Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Google Docs and managing databases
