Capture the Moments That Make HCOS Special to You
We’re excited to officially launch the #HCOSCommunity Photo Contest, running from May 1 to 31, 2025! At HCOS, we believe every student’s learning journey is unique—and we want to see it through your lens. This contest is your opportunity to share your experience and creativity with our community.
Whether it’s the cozy corner where you do your schoolwork, the breathtaking trail you hike after finishing an assignment, or a special moment of creativity or faith, we want to see the world from your point of view.
Prizes
We’ll be awarding one winner in each category with a $100 HCOS School Swag Gift Card and selecting one random winner to receive a $50 Amazon Gift Card. Winners will also be featured on our website and social media channels!

Photo Categories & Ideas
We’ve got four fun and flexible categories. Choose one—or submit to more than one! Here are some examples to spark your creativity:
1. Your Study Space
Show us where learning happens! This could be:
- A sunlit desk surrounded by books and art supplies
- A cozy reading nook filled with pillows and natural light
- Your tech setup with a computer, headphones, and Bible nearby
- A sibling duo hard at work on their studies at the kitchen table
Whether you’re in a library, your bedroom, or even outside on a sunny day—this is your moment to highlight the environment that helps you learn best.
2. Outdoor Learning Adventures
Outdoor learning is a huge part of the HCOS lifestyle. Share moments like:
- A hike with your family or learning group
- A hands-on science activity at the beach, park, or forest
- You holding a nature journal beside a lake
- Exploring God’s creation on a springtime walk
We love seeing how students connect learning with the beauty of nature—this category is all about fresh air and awe!
3. Faith and Service
Faith is the heartbeat of HCOS. Capture moments of spiritual growth and giving:
- Participating in a family Bible study or prayer time
- Serving at a local food bank or delivering care packages
- Embarking on a missions trip
- Singing or playing worship music at home or in your church
These glimpses into your spiritual journey inspire our whole community.
4. A Creative Project
Are you a maker, artist, or innovator? Show off your talents:
- A student showcasing a completed LEGO build or robotics project
- An art station with paint-covered hands and a colorful canvas
- Baking and decorating cupcakes as part of a life skills lesson
- A stop-motion animation setup or filming a short story
Whether it’s tech, art, music, or DIY, we can’t wait to see your gifts in action!
How to Enter
- Choose the category (or categories!) that best represents your HCOS experience.
- Capture your photo. Make sure it’s high quality and well-lit. See guidelines here.
- Head over to hcos.ca/photocontestsubmissions and fill out the short submission form.
- Submit your photo by May 31, 2025.
Tips for a Great Submission
- Think about lighting and composition—natural light works wonders!
- Include a short description with your photo telling us what it means to you.
- Be creative and authentic—we want to see real, everyday moments!
