Honouring Growth, Character & Service: HCOS Awards

three HCOS awards displayed

Each year, HCOS celebrates students who demonstrate excellence, character, and service through our Student Awards Program. This is a special opportunity to recognize the meaningful ways students are learning, serving and shining, both academically and within their community. Our Student Awards are based on the Learner Profile and Biblical Attributes, recognizing both academic excellence and the character that reflects our school’s values.

Honour Roll and Principal’s List – Grades 10 through 12

This award is earned based on defined academic criteria and achievement in a student’s course load. For those exploring post-secondary options or bursary and scholarship applications, noting receipt of these awards can be a beneficial addition to applications.

Character Award – K through 12

Nominated by HCOS staff and educators, this award celebrates students who consistently live out qualities from the Learner Profile or Biblical Attributes throughout the year.

Service Award – K through 12

This award is self-nominated and recognizes students who actively serve their communities through volunteer work, fundraising, or other community projects. Students who meet the criteria can upload supporting documentation to nominate themselves for this award.

We especially encourage students who are actively serving in their communities to apply for the Service Award; it’s a beautiful way to celebrate the positive impact they’re making. Deadline for these submissions is May 15th.

Awards will be announced following the June report card submission, and recipients will receive their certificates by email.
