Graduation Assessment Sessions for 2021/2022

We have wrapped up the first session of this year’s Graduation Assessments. If you didn’t have the opportunity to write during the November sessions, the good news is you have three additional opportunities this year to write the Literacy 10, Numeracy 10 and Literacy 12 Graduation Assessments:

  • January 24 – 28, 2022 (registration opens mid-November)
  • April 25 – 29, 2022 (registration opens mid-February)
  • June 13 – 17, 2022 (registration opens mid-April)

The Grade 10 assessments (Literacy and Numeracy) are to be completed within a student’s Grade 10 year. If you have questions about this, please connect with your Grad Advisor and they will be happy to help.

HCOS has group assessment sessions being hosted all over the province. You can view the schedule and locations to find and register for the location nearest you when the sign-up form is emailed. If these locations require significant travel, you can request a local school when signing up and we will work to find a solution closer to home.

Grade 12’s – this is very important for you! The results of these assessments can take up to 8 weeks to be released. If you require a final transcript by the end of June, you will need to write your Literacy 12 assessment (and any additional outstanding assessments) in January or April. As a school, we highly recommend that all Grade 12’s plan to write their remaining assessments in January. This ensures ample time for processing, adding to transcripts and if required, a second attempt.

HCOS has prepared a module to help prepare for the Numeracy Assessment. Students can access that by following the directions here. In addition, there are Ministry of Education resources and links to practice assessments on that page.

These three assessments are required to complete the Dogwood Graduation Path. If you have questions about the assessments or the graduation requirements please reach out to your Grad Advisor. If you have questions regarding the logistics of signing up or available locations, please contact our Assessment Coordinator, Mr. Gord Robideau
