Celebrating Sara Kraushar: HCOS Head of Schools Receives the 2026 Think Truthfully Award

On September 18, our Head of Schools, Sara Kraushar, was honoured with Trinity Western University’s 2026 Think Truthfully Award at the TWU Alumni Awards Dinner during Homecoming Weekend.

The Think Truthfully Award honours TWU alumni who pursue truth through excellence in Christian education, research, ministry, or creative work, and who show what it looks like to bring faith and reason together. TWU recognized Sara for developing flexible learning models that respond to each student’s needs and potential.

Everything Sara builds begins with one question: what does each student need to thrive?

She first joined HCOS 16 years ago as a home education support teacher with 18 students. Today, HCOS serves approximately 8,500 students across BC. Flex Academy opened with 175 students and has grown to capacity at 375. Behind those numbers are individual children and families, each one known and valued.

Sara believes faith and academics should be valued equally, and that we owe it to our children to help them become good thinkers. It’s a conviction that shapes our school’s culture: learning rooted in Christ and making room for every student’s story.

This year, our schoolwide focus is that Christ is our firm foundation: in every moment, through every story. We see that foundation in how Sara leads, with care for each family and a steady trust in God’s work in every child.

Sara, thank you for your faithful leadership and for building a school where students and families are welcomed, known, and supported. We’re proud to celebrate you!
