For Grade 10 HCOS student Hannah H, the gymnastics season is already off to an incredible start with multiple podium finishes at the Gymnastics Rocks the Rockies meet in Calgary. Competing against athletes from across the country, Hannah set personal goals for the meet and surpassed them!

Held January 23-25, 2026, Gymnastics Rocks the Rockies in Calgary brought together approximately 1700 athletes from across the country for a wide variety of gymnastic competitions.
Hannah competed in Level Xcel Gold and accomplished many amazing feats:
- 1st Place on Beam 🥇
- 1st Place on Vault 🥇
- 2nd Place on Bars 🥈
- 5th Place on Floor 5️⃣
- 2nd Place All Around in her age category 🥈
- The Heart Behind the Routines
Hannah has been training in competitive gymnastics for 7 years, beginning at just 8 years old. Over that time, she has refined her skills and performed at a competitive level.
“I love gymnastics because I can train with my friends, and it’s a competitive yet respectful environment,” she shares. “I love going to the meets and performing in front of the judges.”
For Hannah, gymnastics is about both personal growth and connecting with her team: pushing herself and supporting those around her.
While competitions are far from over, Hannah’s next competition is coming up this month in Port Alberni.

“Home education has given me the time to pursue my passion for gymnastics and the flexibility to coach.”
That balance allows Hannah to invest deeply in her sport while continuing her education, building discipline, responsibility, and confidence both in and out of the gym.
