The Great HCOS Student Council Christmas Cookie Competition

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

With Christmas less than two months away, some people are already starting to put up their decorations and start their traditions. This year, your HCOS student council has prepared an event that is sure to get everyone excited for the upcoming holiday season. We want to invite all HCOS students and families to join in the fun. This will be HCOS’ very first Christmas Cookie Competition! We have created different grade groups with different movies to inspire your creations.

  • K-2: The Grinch
  • 3-5: Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
  • 6-9: The Santa Clause
  • 10-12: Elf

You will work to make cookies inspired by the movie that has been assigned to your group.  For example: If you were making cookies inspired by the Santa Clause you could create cookies that look like a red coat or make an entire scene from the movie. Feel free to be creative and display your ideas at whatever skill level you are at!

This competition is more than just fun! It can be considered school too! It can be submitted as Art and ADST and you can have a fun time in the kitchen with family, friends, or even by yourself!

You are welcome to make any kind of cookies, including gingerbread, sugar cookies, and chocolate chip cookies. You can also add any edible items you want to enhance your creation. Gingerbread house kits may be used, but that must be included in the description of your creation, however, you need to add your own unique flair.

For those who don’t have a recipe of their own to use, use one of these links to help you get started: Recipe 1  Recipe 2  Recipe 3

No cookie cutters? No problem! Print or cut out a piece of paper or parchment paper in the shape that you need and use that as your outline!
